Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what information Wordsmith's Emissary collects, why, and what you can do about it. It describes what this website actually does, not what it might do one day.
What we collect
If you join the email list: your email address, and nothing else. You give it to us deliberately, and it's used only to send you the messages you signed up for.
If you contact us: whatever you choose to put in your message.
Automatically: our web host keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested. This is ordinary hosting infrastructure and applies to essentially every website.
Analytics
This site doesn't currently run any analytics or tracking software. If that changes, this section will be updated at the same time, and it will name the tool, say what it measures, and say whether it uses cookies.
Cookies
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies. If cookies are introduced later, this section will say so plainly before they're used.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information. Not to anyone, for any price.
- We don't share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.
- We don't build advertising profiles of you.
Third parties
Our web host processes requests in order to serve the site. Our email provider stores the list, if you have joined it. Where the site links to other websites, those sites have their own policies and we don't control them.
Your choices
Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to hello@wordsmithsemissary.com. We'll action deletion requests promptly.
Children
This site is intended for adults. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be stated clearly rather than quietly edited in.
The details privacy laws ask for
Why we use your information
- Email list: only with your consent, when you sign up. You can withdraw it anytime with the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Emails you send us: to read and answer them, because you asked us to.
- Server logs: to keep the site secure and working, which is our legitimate interest.
How long we keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe.
- Emails you send us: only as long as we need to reply and follow up.
- Server logs: a short time set by our web host, then deleted.
Who else handles it
Only our web host and our email list provider, once the list is connected. They may process data in the United States or other countries, under their own privacy terms. We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
What you can ask for
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct, delete or move your information, object to or limit how we use it, and withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@wordsmithsemissary.com and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re in the EU, the UK or Switzerland and you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don’t track you across other websites, so every visit is treated the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
